Uninstalling

Jun 28, 2008 7:36 AM by Discussion: Object Desktop
I have been a member of Stardock and Wincustomize for a few years now. My subcription with OD has expired and I don't want to renew it.
My question is Do I have to have Stardock Central still installed on my computer or can I uninstall it but still have the functionality of WB and the rest?

I don't like having things on my computer that are not in use at all.

With Window Blinds 6

Oct 9, 2007 2:29 PM by Discussion: WindowBlinds
When I browse the skins in Window Blinds 6 and click to edit a particular skin, it doesn't open the Skin Studio instead it opens up the Stardock site for a purchase. I have renewed my upgrade. I have downloaded it all through Stardock Central. So I don't understand why this is happening. I can edit or create a skin by clicking on the Skin Studio Icon. The W.B. is the Beta version. Should I have an earlier version installed with it also? Another thing is that the products get installed, this time around, in a lot of places. The All Users folder, mine.... is there a way to have it just in one place?

Windows Vista

I have uninstalled my Object Desktop which I had on a purchased CD 2004 as I had trouble installing new versions of Icons, W.Blinds and so on. I don't have Windows Vista. Now I would like to know if I was to re new my membership to download the new version of OD would I be able to use it on my system? I have been away for a long time from all this and I am just starting to get back in to it all but I just need to know this before I purchase it. I am still a paid member of Wincustumize and I probably will in years to come as I believe this is the best site for a best variety of skins and customizing your computer.

CD Purchase 2004

Sep 29, 2007 9:18 PM by Discussion: Object Desktop
I have been away for some time from the site but when I first became member and owner of OD in 2004 and Wincustomize. I purchased a CD and have since paid membership here and I am still a member. My misunderstanding is that when I purchased the OD CD I received a letter from Stardock in which I was told that I would have free updates to OD. Now I find that I also have to purchase a Stardock membership or actually pay to upgrade my OD. I have also purchased Icons, themes and so on. I just don't understand why I have to re purchase upgrades. When has all this changed? Could someone please try to explain why this is so? I have written to Stardock but only had a reply that they have received my e-mail and will reply. I do realize they are busy.

Which one is this

Jul 13, 2005 7:28 PM by Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Since installing the new IP it has made a mess with some of my file extenstions. I have files that I don't know what they are or what they were. For example I have tried to find out on the Net what these ones were for: SAM-Sam File,
.4taskbandtoolbar there are a lot of others. One that puzzles me most is when I go to view Folder Options/File Types the very first one sits on top of the list and can't be changed, it has a default icon and as file type just has File, now that was not there befor. I can't do a thing to it, if I click Advanced and choose a program to open it nothing happens and none of the other buttons will work to do anything to this particular file.
Is there a program of some sort that can fix this type of problem?
Finding what certain file extensions are is one thing and doesn't help me much as it has a variety of programs that use them. For example my SAM File is in the GIMP Program and the icon is Gimp but the extension SAM File is just not Right, or it was not there in that form before. It should be a GIMP Plugi-In. But now I have the SAM file in other places. If I try to change it for one program it won't work for another. It has me really baffled.
If anyone understood what I wrote I would be most grateful for help.

I would like to know if there is someone willing to tell me how to just change color of a Wallpaper. This is for personal use only I am not a creator of any kind I just have a lot of great Walls but would like to change their coloring to suit a particular W.Blind that I use. I have tried and got nowhere. I am not good at this at all. But if someone out there has a simple way of showing me how to do it I would be most grateful.

One other problem I have I just can't seem to get rid of certain programs left behind Norton Anti Virus on my Add and Remove programs list, they are listed there but I can't get rid of them. It would also help if you read my article on Norton that I posted earler on. Would be grateful for help. :D

I would like to know if there is a program that can change the color of Wall papers, I have seen in screen shots some people change the color of original Walls, now I know how to have this done with Icon packager for the Icons. I have some great Walls that I could use with my W.Blinds and would look great if I could change their color. ;)
